The Kremlin, through spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, announced that there are currently no favorable conditions for resuming peace negotiations with Ukraine, although Russia is open to diplomatic solutions. Peskov appreciated Turkey's role as a mediator but emphasized the lack of signals for a quick dialogue between Moscow and Kiev.
Negotiations have stalled after several rounds of discussions, and the conflict remains stable, with ongoing attacks on strategic infrastructure. Peskov also commented on the governmental reshuffle in Ukraine, mentioning that the changes will not influence the situation if the authorities are not willing to make decisions that lead to a peaceful resolution.
The divergences between Moscow and Kiev remain deep, with Russian President Vladimir Putin demanding the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbas, while Ukrainian President Zelensky is calling for a ceasefire. Under these conditions, the prospects for negotiations remain low, and the conflict continues to be marked by confrontations on the ground.
