Paul Scholes, former captain of the Manchester United team, announced that he will temporarily retire from television to take care of his 20-year-old son, Aiden, who suffers from severe autism. In an emotional interview, Scholes explained that Aiden, diagnosed with nonverbal childhood autism, requires constant care and attention.

The former footballer, who has not appeared on screen since May, from the Europa League final, mentioned that although he separated from his wife in 2020, they continue to share the responsibilities related to caring for their son. Scholes emphasized the importance of routine in Aiden's life, who does not understand the concepts of time. Although he is stepping back from sports commentary, Scholes will continue to host his podcast, "The Good, The Bad and The Football," alongside other colleagues.
