The government of Pakistan has announced that, starting Wednesday, the supply of electricity will be interrupted for approximately two hours each evening, during the time frame of 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM, to prevent a significant increase in tariffs. The Ministry of Energy justified this measure by the need to reduce the use of costly fuels. In particular, the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad will be exempt from these interruptions, due to the availability of low-cost electricity production in the south of the country.

This decision comes in the context of rising global energy prices, influenced by conflicts in the region, including the American-Israeli war against Iran, which has disrupted energy markets. Additionally, oil prices have recently decreased, amid expectations of the resumption of peace negotiations between the United States and Iran.
