The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that over 80 people have been taken to police stations for questioning after a major street fight among migrants in a residential area of Moscow. Video recordings show people fighting with bats and shovels, causing destruction near the Prokshino residential complex. Authorities have arrested 19 individuals for hooliganism and stated that migrants with Russian citizenship may have their citizenship revoked, while other foreign nationals involved will be expelled with a ban on re-entering the country. Migration from former Soviet republics has become a major political issue in Russia, and by 2024, approximately 6.3 million migrants have arrived in the country, mostly from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Although the Russian economy depends on the labor force from these regions, many Russian citizens oppose the large influx of migrants.
