Peter Magyar, the leader of the Tisza party and winner of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, accused oligarchs close to Viktor Orbán of transferring tens of billions of forints to the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Uruguay, and other countries, under suspicion of money laundering. Magyar called on the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) to investigate these funds and to detain the individuals involved, warning that the oligarchs might flee the country before the new government is formed. He also mentioned that some oligarch families have started selling media assets at prices below market value and are preparing to leave Hungary. In the context of these events, Viktor Orbán announced that he would not participate in the next Parliament, and speculation suggests that he might seek asylum in the USA. Magyar emphasizes that Tisza has won a significant majority in Parliament, having 141 representatives, in contrast to the 52 of Fidesz-KDNP.
