Traffic restrictions introduced at the beginning of the summer in the Piața Unirii–Cantemir–Horoscop restaurant area will be lifted before the start of the new school year, the administration of Bucharest’s Sector 4 announced on Saturday. The measure is part of the plan established for the reconstruction works on the Unirii Deck.
Meanwhile, work is continuing inside the construction site. According to the local administration, the old structure, built nearly 100 years ago and in an advanced state of deterioration, has been replaced. Construction workers aim to complete the entire concrete slab of the new deck by the end of this year.
Details about the lifting of the restrictions, the current stage of the works and the project’s next steps will be presented on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. by Sector 4 Mayor Daniel Băluță. The press conference will take place inside the construction site in Piața Unirii. Lifting the restrictions will allow traffic to resume in the affected area before students return to classes, while structural works will continue.4)
