In a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sibiga, the head of Norwegian diplomacy, Espen Barth Eide, announced that Norway will allocate 200 million dollars to Ukraine. Half of this amount will be dedicated to the purchase of gas and the repair of energy infrastructure, thus ensuring the functioning of heating and electricity systems during the winter. The other half will be directed to Ukraine's budget as macro-financial support. Eide emphasized that this funding will act as a 'bridge' until the promised funds from the European Union are received. Norway will also strengthen its cooperation with Ukraine in the field of defense, focusing on the development of air defense systems and long-range missiles. The Norwegian minister highlighted that stopping the war in Ukraine is a strategic priority for Oslo, considering the proximity to Russia and the direct impact of the conflict.
