Norway has announced that it will provide Ukraine with an additional support of 85 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately 9.2 billion dollars) in 2027, thus maintaining the level of aid from 2026.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre personally informed President Volodymyr Zelensky about this proposal during a meeting in Kyiv. The Norwegian government will officially request the approval of this funding from Parliament, Storting. Støre emphasized the importance of supporting and rebuilding Ukraine for the security of Europe.
The 2027 package will focus on military support, including the purchase of weapons from the Ukrainian defense industry.
Norway has been a consistent supporter of Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022, providing air defense systems, ammunition, and financial assistance. Recently, Norway pledged 2.8 billion kroner for the NATO PURL initiative, thus strengthening urgent military support for Ukraine.
