NATO has announced that, for the first time, all 32 member countries will allocate a minimum of 2% of GDP for defense this year, a goal set in 2014. By 2035, the commitment will increase to 5%, including 3.5% for military spending and 1.5% for security. This is a reaction to the threats from Russia. Although most countries have agreed, Spain has expressed reservations, stating that it will also adhere to its own defense plans. Poland will allocate the largest share of GDP for defense, at 4.48%.
