The former presidential candidate, Călin Georgescu, is under judicial control and is being tried for actions against the constitutional order. Information from the file of an influence network, which includes SRI and SIE reservists, politicians, and businessmen, suggests that Georgescu was to be taken out of the country under the pretext of a fictitious employment in Austria. Dănuț Hanț Constantin, a businessman from Vienna, allegedly organized this employment to allow Georgescu to leave Romania, despite the legal measures imposed. Intercepted transcripts show discussions between Silviu Ularu-Pîrvu and his wife about the plan to employ Georgescu in a consulting firm. The network around the Hanț family, which includes connections in secret services and politics, is accused of influence peddling and protecting individuals targeted by investigations. In the same case, former SIE general Nicolae Iană discusses influencing decisions within the DNA. The investigation led to 23 searches in several counties, targeting influential individuals from the business environment and former personnel from the intelligence services.
