Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, emphasized that support for Ukraine is not evenly distributed within the Alliance, with some countries, like Sweden, exceeding expectations, while others do not contribute enough. In a press conference, Rutte called for a debate on establishing a minimum level of financial support for each member country.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson highlighted that Sweden is the third largest donor in NATO and urged other countries to provide similar support. NATO foreign ministers are meeting in Helsingborg to prepare for the summit in Ankara, where commitments made at last year's summit will be discussed, including increasing defense spending.

Rutte stressed the need to turn commitments into real capabilities and called for constant increases in defense investments. There will also be discussions on ensuring sustainable support for Ukraine, in the presence of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
