Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, stated on Thursday at the Atlantic Council that the summit on July 7-8 in Ankara will bring important announcements, including new defense contracts worth billions of dollars. At this meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be present, and NATO will reaffirm its commitment to support Ukraine. Rutte emphasized that, although companies in the US and Europe have increased arms production to meet demand, additional efforts are needed. An important direction for the future is to overcome the current fragmentation of the defense industry among different countries, to ensure more effective coordination in this field.
