The Ukrainian state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, announced Rutte's arrival at the train station in Kiev, emphasizing the importance of this visit as a gesture of solidarity from the Alliance.

During a previous meeting, Rutte expressed the desire to distribute the burden of military aid to Ukraine more equitably among NATO member states, noting that only a few allies bear the majority of the costs.
