Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, stated on Wednesday that the United States maintains its commitment to the alliance, despite the reduction of contributions to NATO's Force Model.
Rutte emphasized that this commitment comes with the expectation that allies will share security responsibilities in Europe more equitably, in the context of a G7 meeting in Evian-les-Bains, France. He mentioned that European allies and Canada are ready to contribute more, which has led the U.S. to adjust its commitments.
Rutte highlighted the increase in defense spending and industrial production among NATO allies.
