On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Kyiv was the target of the most powerful Russian attack of this year, with ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in 15 deaths and 51 injuries, according to Ukrainian authorities. The attack began after midnight, causing explosions and fires in the capital and its suburbs. The head of the military administration in Kyiv, Timur Tkachenko, confirmed the massive bombings, which targeted civilian infrastructure and warehouses.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the attacks were directed at logistics centers used for supplying weapons. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, expressed his fear that more people could be trapped under the rubble.
In recent weeks, Russia has intensified attacks on Kyiv, while Ukraine has retaliated with strikes on Russian civilian infrastructure.
