Last week, Lululemon decided to fire its CEO, in the context of activist investor Elliott Management announcing that it has acquired a $1 billion stake in the athleisure brand. Elliott Management intends to appoint Jane Nielsen, former director of Ralph Lauren, as CEO. Lululemon is facing a slowdown in growth in the North American market and is losing market share to new competitors, having a significant loss in market value this year. Despite these challenges, the brand announced its expansion into the markets of Greece, Austria, Poland, Hungary, and Romania, collaborating with Arion Retail Group. Additionally, entry into the Indian market will take place through a partnership with Tata CLiQ.
