The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, stated on Tuesday that his country will not accept the Israeli occupation in the south and any foreign interference, while the fifth round of negotiations with Israel is taking place in Washington.
Aoun emphasized that Lebanon demands the complete cessation of the Israeli occupation and the restoration of sovereignty over its entire territory.
"We will not accept anything less than the end of the Israeli occupation and all foreign tutelage," said Joseph Aoun.
Since the beginning of the negotiations in April, discussions have not led to a lasting ceasefire agreement, despite a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the USA that provides for the cessation of fighting on all fronts, including in southern Lebanon.
