Lebanon’s President, Joseph Aoun, called on the United States and the international community to intervene urgently to stop Israeli attacks in the south of the country, which have left at least seven people dead and dozens injured. The attacks damaged Lebanese state buildings and completely destroyed a hospital that was no longer operating, despite the ceasefire and the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

The areas most affected were the localities of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Arab Salim, the city of Nabatieh, and Kfar Rumman. Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported the deaths of four people, including two women, and later announced three more deaths following an attack on a parking lot near the city of Nabatieh. At least 20 people, including three children, were injured.

The Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa was “completely destroyed.” Israel claims it targeted Hezbollah members and infrastructure, including weapons depots and a command center set up in a building previously used as a hospital. Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for attacks in recent weeks and has not commented on the Israeli army’s seizure of the Ali al-Taher ridge.

Aoun described the strikes as a “dangerous escalation” and called on Washington to act to ensure compliance with the agreements reached in June. Tensions continue, and Israeli forces maintain a security zone in southern Lebanon.
