Israel attacked towns in southern Lebanon. At least four people were killed, and 20 were injured

At least four people were killed and another 20 were injured on Sunday following Israeli airstrikes and bombardments on several localities in the Nabatieh region, in southern Lebanon, according to the initial toll released by the Public Health Ministry in Beirut. The victims were reported in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Nabatieh, and Arab Salim, while other people were injured in Kafr Rumman. The attacks began around 05:00 local time and affected homes, public buildings, and other sites in Nabatieh and the surrounding area.

In Arab Salim, two people were killed and six were injured after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning for a building. In Nabatieh al-Fawqa, an attack destroyed a house and damaged part of the former Ghandour Hospital. Damage was also reported to a historic building and to the regional offices of the finance and agriculture departments.

Israel claims that the operations were launched in response to drone attacks carried out by Hezbollah against Israeli soldiers stationed in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army announced that it had shot down one of the two drones launched by the pro-Iranian Shiite group. The attacks are taking place amid the regional escalation that began shortly after the outbreak of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. According to the latest data provided by Lebanon's Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks have caused 4,353 deaths and 12,323 injuries in the country since March 2.
