Airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition killed at least 22 civilians in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, on Saturday, according to al-Masirah television, which is affiliated with the Houthi rebels. The victims reportedly included mainly women and children, while approximately 30 people were injured.

Saudi aircraft reportedly struck homes in the Bani Hushaysh district. An official from a local hospital confirmed the casualty figure to al-Masirah, but the information has not been independently verified. The Saudi-led coalition has not commented on the accusations so far.

Also on Saturday, Yemeni government forces, backed by the popular resistance, announced that they had repelled an attack by Houthi rebels on the al-Aqroud front in Taiz province. The fighting lasted several hours, and pro-government media claimed that the rebels suffered significant losses.

Earlier, the coalition announced that it had intercepted a cruise missile launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh. The rebels have attacked airports and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia in recent months. Riyadh supports Yemen’s internationally recognized government and has been fighting the Houthis for more than a decade. The conflict has intensified recently amid the war between the United States and Iran.
