The Kremlin confirmed on Tuesday that a Russian delegation will participate in a new round of trilateral talks with Ukraine and the United States in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11. The discussions aim to identify a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine, which has reached an impasse after more than three years of war.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow’s delegation will again be led by negotiator Vladimir Medinsky. The confirmation comes after US special envoy Steve Witkoff announced that the talks would take place in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Witkoff, the agenda will include postwar security measures, reducing tensions, humanitarian issues and the next steps toward peace. US negotiators are expected to hold talks in Brussels with representatives of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union and NATO about security guarantees for Ukraine.
The last trilateral Russian-Ukrainian-American meeting took place in mid-February in Geneva, without decisive progress. Moscow is demanding the complete withdrawal of the Ukrainian army from the Donetsk region, a condition rejected by Kyiv, which fears it would become vulnerable to new attacks. Previous stages of the negotiations were suspended after the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran broke out.
