Russia and Ukraine will resume peace negotiations on November 10 and 11 in Abu Dhabi, mediated by the United States, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff announced. The discussions will address security guarantees for Ukraine, de-escalation of the conflict, humanitarian issues, and the next steps toward ending the war.
Before the meeting, U.S. negotiators are expected to travel to Brussels for consultations with representatives of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO. The main topic will be defining security guarantees for Ukraine in the postwar period.
The resumption of negotiations comes as Russian attacks continue. Ukraine announced that several strikes on a school in Komyshuvakha, in the Zaporizhzhia region, where humanitarian aid was being distributed, resulted in 26 deaths.
The last trilateral meeting between the Russian, Ukrainian, and American delegations took place in mid-February in Geneva, without an agreement on resolving the conflict. At that time, Moscow and Kyiv maintained their positions, and the fighting continued.
