A bomb threat sent on Monday, November 2, by email to 271 schools in Italy prompted evacuations and the mobilization of police, bomb disposal experts, and local authorities. Eight of the targeted institutions are in Rome, where approximately 650 students from a school complex in the Appio Tuscolano district were taken to Villa Lais Park.
The message, received around 10:15 a.m., announced the presence of an explosive device and contained serious threats. School administrators activated emergency procedures and requested the intervention of the authorities. The students were evacuated quickly, some without warm clothing or their personal school supplies, while teachers contacted parents to pick them up.
Police officers and bomb disposal teams, with the help of specialized dogs, also searched the buildings. No explosives were found, and the threat proved to be false. The authorities are continuing their checks to identify the sender of the message.
