Secretary of State Luca Niculescu reaffirmed the importance of the strategic partnership between Romania and Turkey and announced that expanding economic cooperation, increasing investments, and strengthening the presence of Romanian companies on the Turkish market are among the priorities. The statements were made at an event organized on the occasion of Turkey’s National Day and at the end of the Turkish ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Romania.
Niculescu stressed that bilateral relations are based not only on strategic and economic interests, but also on the ties between the communities of the two countries. He highlighted the role of the Romanian community in Turkey and of the Turkish and Tatar communities in Romania, which are considered examples of harmonious coexistence and integration.
In his speech, the Romanian official invoked Nicolae Titulescu and his vision of Romanian-Turkish friendship, which the diplomat said had withstood historical vicissitudes. Niculescu said that the current strategic partnership confirms the relevance of this relationship.
At the end, he thanked the Turkish ambassador for his contribution to strengthening bilateral ties and conveyed his wishes of peace, prosperity, and success to the Turkish people.
