Kirilo Budanov, the head of the presidential administration in Kiev, stated that a new round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, mediated by the United States, could take place in September. Budanov emphasized the importance of American presence in these discussions, stating that American delegations are indispensable.
Although diplomatic contacts have resumed in recent months, no solutions have been found to end the conflict. President Zelensky proposed a plan based on a ceasefire, the creation of a free economic zone, and security guarantees from the European Union and NATO.
In contrast, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, is unwilling to negotiate until it completely conquers the Donbas region and wants to maintain the occupied areas. In this context, Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities continue, and Ukraine is intensifying its strikes on Russian infrastructure. The last round of trilateral negotiations took place in February, before the escalation of the conflict.
