The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that it has responded to a new proposal from the United States, aimed at breaking the diplomatic deadlock and ending the war. The ministry's spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, stated that Iran expresses its concerns and that discussions continue with the help of a Pakistani mediator. He also emphasized that Iran is prepared for any eventuality, in the context of recent threats from Donald Trump.

Negotiations between the two parties, which began after the ceasefire on April 8, have had only one round of discussions, which ended in failure. Iran continues to demand the unblocking of frozen assets and the lifting of international sanctions, while the Iranian press criticizes the conditions imposed by the U.S., considering them excessive. Washington has also refused to unblock some Iranian assets or to pay compensation for the damages suffered by Iran during the war.
