Starting January 1, the annual subscription that offers access to the 63 national parks in the United States will significantly increase, from $80 to $250 for non-residents of the U.S. Additionally, those who do not hold this subscription will be subject to an extra fee of $100 on entrance tickets to famous parks such as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, or Yellowstone. These changes are justified by the Trump administration as a way to prioritize access for Americans to these sites, many of which are included in the UNESCO heritage.
Furthermore, to encourage national tourism, the Department of the Interior will introduce 'patriotic days', during which access will be free for American residents, including on Presidents' Day. Until now, the fees were identical for residents and foreigners.
