The police intervened at Heathrow airport after several people were attacked with pepper spray. A suspect has been arrested.

An incident at Heathrow Airport in London led to police and emergency services intervention. At 08:11 local time, police were alerted to multiple assaults, in which a group of men sprayed pepper spray on several people and left the scene. Armed police arrested a man suspected of assault, who remains in custody of the authorities, and the investigation continues to identify other suspects.

Heathrow authorities confirmed that the incident occurred in the multi-storey car park of Terminal 3 and temporarily suspended the operation of Heathrow Express trains and some sections of the Elizabeth line. Although the incident prompted a massive police response, authorities stated that it is isolated and not related to terrorist activities or protests. Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
