Highlander aims to validate the commercial viability of submerging data centers, submerging its first center in the Yellow Sea. This technique could save up to 90% of the energy used for cooling, benefiting from the natural cooling of ocean currents. The project, which will be primarily powered by offshore wind farms, faces challenges related to sealing and corrosion. There are also concerns about the ecological impact of this structure on marine ecosystems.
