DSU has sent schools guidelines for protecting students in the event of air alerts involving drones

The Department for Emergency Situations, led by Raed Arafat, sent the Ministry of Education a set of recommendations for protecting students, parents and teaching staff in the event of possible air alarms involving drones. The measures were published by interim Education Minister Mihai Dimian and sent to school inspectorates, so they could reach all educational institutions.

According to the recommendations, schools must identify shelter areas in advance, such as equipped basements or interior rooms with few windows. The top floor is not recommended, as the roof would be most exposed in the event of a direct impact.

Upon receiving a RO-ALERT warning, activities must be halted calmly, and students must be taken to the designated areas, away from windows, balconies, exterior doors, glass walls and façades. Children who are in the yard or taking part in sports activities must be brought quickly into the nearest building, without returning for personal belongings.

Students must not leave the room until the alert has officially ended, and parents must not come to pick them up during the alert. Mihai Dimian said the measures are intended to improve preparedness and are not meant to cause fear.
