Johann Wadephul, who took over the foreign affairs portfolio last month, arrived in Kiev for the first time, traveling by train with representatives of the German arms industry. The visit was kept secret for security reasons. Germany is a major supplier of military equipment to Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russian invasion. Wadephul will hold talks with Ukrainian officials and pay tribute to the victims of the Babin Iar massacre in 1941.
