The Romanian Naval Forces have destroyed a Ukrainian maritime drone in the Black Sea

The soldiers of the 39th Divers Center, with the support of a Coast Guard ship, intervened in the maritime area located 36 nautical miles east of Constanța, where they identified a floating object as a Ukrainian-made Sea Baby maritime drone. The drone was destroyed by controlled detonation around 1:00 PM. The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) emphasizes that, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Romanian Naval Forces have constantly monitored the maritime responsibility area, ensuring freedom of navigation for over 12,000 commercial vessels.

Additionally, MApN warns about the danger posed by drifting naval mines, mentioning that in the last nearly four years, approximately 150 mines have been neutralized, seven of which by the Romanian Naval Forces. Romania collaborates with Bulgaria and Turkey within the Black Sea Mine Countermeasures Operational Group, having commanded the naval grouping for the last six months.
