The Romanian rugby team learned on Wednesday the opponents in Group B for the 2027 World Cup, which will take place in Australia from October 1 to November 13. Romania will face the four-time world champion team, South Africa, the title holder, as well as Italy and Georgia.
The competition will include 24 teams, a first compared to the previous edition, which had 20 teams. The top two teams from each group, plus four teams in third place with the best performances, will qualify for the knockout stage.
Matches will take place in seven Australian cities: Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, and Townsville. Group A will include Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Hong Kong, while the other groups are made up of strong teams such as Argentina, Ireland, and France.
