A severe spring storm hit Queensland, Australia, on Tuesday, bringing gigantic hailstones measuring up to 14 centimeters, which damaged vehicles, solar panels, and roofs. Over 95,000 homes were left without electricity due to strong winds, which reached speeds of up to 100 km/h, and more than 800,000 lightning strikes. The national meteorological office warned that additional storms are forecasted for the southeast of the country, although their intensity may be lower. Additionally, an extreme heat warning has been issued for the northern regions of Queensland, where temperatures could exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Residents posted images of the gigantic hail on social media, highlighting its unusual size.
