The German Ministry of the Interior announced on Wednesday the dissolution of the association 'Muslim Interaktiv', accused of attacks on constitutional order by promoting a caliphate, rejecting women's rights, and inciting hatred against Israel. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt emphasized that he will not tolerate organizations that undermine democracy. Following this decision, searches took place in locations in Hamburg, where the association was founded in March 2020.
'Muslim Interaktiv' was active on social media, denouncing what it considered to be a rejection of the Muslim community by politicians. Searches were also conducted in Berlin and Hesse in connection with two other associations, 'Generation Islam' and 'Realitățile Islam'. Germany has previously banned Muslim organizations, and recently tightened immigration policy to counter the rise of the far-right AfD party in the context of jihadist-motivated attacks.
