George Maior, the ambassador of Romania to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, sent a message to The Jordan Times, highlighting the importance of diplomatic relations between Romania and Jordan, which celebrate 60 years. On the occasion of Romania's National Day, he emphasized the close cooperation between the two states, which was elevated to the level of a strategic partnership this year. Maior mentioned Romania's role as a member of the European Union and NATO, as well as Jordan's contribution to regional stability.
The Romanian Embassy has been the NATO Contact Point in Amman, strengthening ties with the North Atlantic Alliance. The two countries have demonstrated a shared commitment to an international order based on rules, supporting peaceful solutions in the Middle East. Maior emphasized that the partnership is based on the genuine friendship between the peoples, reflecting the common historical experiences and geopolitical challenges faced by both nations.
