Mathieu Vigier Latour suffered burns, the loss of 1,000 hair grafts and sleep problems after a beard transplant in Turkey. He later learned that the operation was not performed by a qualified surgeon but by a real estate agent. He developed a dysmorphic disorder and, despite attempts to correct the surgery, took his own life. His father is now campaigning to raise awareness of the risks of cheap health tourism.
