A 56-year-old man from Dolj County was found dead in his home after allegedly shooting himself with an animal stun gun.

A 56-year-old man from Dolj County was found dead in his home on Thursday, after allegedly shooting himself with an animal stun gun.

The incident was reported to the police by a 37-year-old man from the Ișalnița commune. Police officers from the No. 1 Rural Police Station in Șimnicu de Sus and SMURD teams intervened at the scene, confirming the death. Medical personnel attempted resuscitation maneuvers, but the man was declared dead.

The police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter and continue investigations to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. A forensic examination has also been requested to determine the cause of death.
