A man died after falling into a rapeseed silo in the town of Olteni. Rescuers extracted him with difficulty

A man approximately 32 years old died on Tuesday after falling into a rapeseed silo in the town of Olteni, Teleorman County. The victim was extracted with difficulty by intervention teams, but the ambulance doctor could no longer do anything to save his life.

According to the Teleorman County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the extraction operation was hampered by the depth of the silo and the large quantity of grain inside. Rescuers intervened with a rescue vehicle, an aerial ladder truck, a multi-risk response vehicle and an ambulance.

After the victim was extracted, the doctor pronounced the man dead. The case remains under the attention of the competent authorities, which are to establish the exact circumstances in which the accident occurred. ISU Teleorman said the intervention was difficult because of the conditions inside the silo and the large volume of rapeseed into which the victim had fallen.
