A 35-year-old Romanian man suffered severe burns and is in critical condition at Niguarda hospital in Milan, after he set himself on fire on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The incident took place in front of his ex-girlfriend's house in Cinisello Balsamo, where the man doused himself with gasoline during a video call with her.

After the flames engulfed him, he managed to open the car door and got out, being found lying on the asphalt by firefighters, who rushed him to the hospital. The ex-girlfriend stated that the man had been harassing her for about a year, but she did not file a complaint against him. Italian authorities continue investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
