Charles Kushner, the United States ambassador to Paris, was summoned by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs following comments made by officials of the Trump administration regarding the death of nationalist activist Quentin Deranque.
Jean Noël Barrot, head of French diplomacy, stated that France rejects any political exploitation of this tragedy and emphasizes that it has no lessons to learn regarding violence from the international reactionary community.
The comments from the Trump administration, which condemned the violence of leftist groups, sparked reactions at the European level, including from Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who was criticized by President Emmanuel Macron for her interventions in the internal affairs of other countries.
Quentin Deranque died on February 14, after being physically attacked by a radical left group on February 12.
