The authorities in France have opened an investigation against the platforms Shein, Temu, AliExpress, and Wish, suspected of facilitating minors' access to pornographic content. This action was triggered by reports from a consumer protection agency, which highlighted the sale of child-like sex dolls on the Shein platform. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed that the investigation targets violent and pornographic messages accessible to minors.
AliExpress stated that it has removed the problematic listings and will penalize sellers who violate the rules. Shein announced that it has banned the sale of sex dolls on its platform and will block the accounts of sellers involved in their illegal sale. The investigation comes in the context of the opening of Shein's first permanent physical store in Paris, where protests against the company took place. Shein intends to open other locations in cities such as Dijon, Reims, and Angers.
