The French government has decided to suspend the Shein platform, at the request of the Prime Minister, following the scandal of selling sexual dolls for children. The suspension will last until Shein demonstrates that all its products comply with French laws and regulations. The Ministry of Economy announced that an assessment will be conducted in the next 48 hours. This measure comes in the context of the opening of Shein's first physical store in Paris and previous accusations related to non-compliance with European standards. Shein, known for its fast-fashion models, has been sanctioned in the past for various legal violations, including promoting misleading information. The company cited a "malfunction" in the case of the sexual dolls and requested a distinction between its brand and the market it intermediates. Shein also claims that it complies with labor standards and that its model reduces material waste.
