The European Commission plans to remove tax exemptions for gasoline and diesel cars in company fleets to boost demand for electric vehicles. About 60% of new car registrations in the EU come from company fleets, which is why the commission says it is essential to remove subsidies for fossil-fuel vehicles. Measures to support demand for electric vehicles will also be proposed.
