During a hearing at the Helsinki Commission of the U.S. Congress, Margus Tsahkna, the head of Estonian diplomacy, described how Russia is intensifying its pressure on Estonia, NATO, and the West. The official highlighted Moscow's aggressive challenges, which include airspace violations, suspicious naval activities in the Baltic Sea, GPS jamming, sabotage, and cyberattacks.

Tsahkna emphasized a pattern of hybrid attacks, including disinformation campaigns, which he referred to as 'shadow warfare.' He also mentioned that, despite losses in Ukraine, Russia is expanding its military, which could lead to a stronger military presence at NATO's borders in the next two to three years. Tsahkna called for a united and decisive response from the West, noting that NATO has begun to act through the Eastern Sentry and Baltic Sentry missions to strengthen defense on the eastern flank. The hearing was led by Senator Roger Wicker, and security experts were invited to testify.
