Margus Tsahkna, the Estonian foreign minister, stated that the downing of Ukrainian drones on NATO territory is an "acceptable price" for attacks on military bases and refineries in Russia. In an interview with the Financial Times, he emphasized that Estonia will not ask Ukraine to cease these attacks, which affect Vladimir Putin's interests.

In recent months, Ukraine has intensified missile and drone attacks, and Russia has responded by strengthening its defense systems, which has led to the downing of some drones on the territory of NATO countries, including Romania. Tsahkna emphasized that Russia's accusations regarding the direct involvement of the Baltic states in the attacks are "ridiculous" and criticized European attempts to establish a dialogue with the Kremlin, considering them dangerous. He warned that Russia is trying to turn European countries into intermediaries in negotiations, which could lead to a division of support for Ukraine.
