Bulgaria intends to stop the transit of Russian gas to Serbia and Hungary by 2026, according to statements by Prime Minister Rosen Jelyazkov. This decision comes in response to the call from American President Donald Trump to reduce dependence on Russian energy. Additionally, Bulgaria plans to completely eliminate Russian gas from its energy market by 2028. Although it previously relied on Russia for its energy needs, Bulgaria now covers its gas consumption through imports of liquefied natural gas from Greece, already having favorable conditions for imports from the USA.
