The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 severely affected the province of Cebu, trapping residents in collapsed buildings, especially in the city of Bogo. On Wednesday, rescue teams, including the army and volunteers, began house-to-house searches under difficult conditions due to the weather and damaged infrastructure. The epicenter of the earthquake was 19 km northeast of Bogo, where most of the casualties were recorded. The death toll could rise as rescue operations continue.
