Victor Negrescu, Vice President of the European Parliament, stated that the Politico article, which criticizes Romania's diplomacy, represents a "slap" for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasized that Romania fails to have a country vision at the European level, having too few own initiatives and not actively participating in technical working groups.

Negrescu mentioned that Romania should defend its viewpoint in the negotiations for the European budget, considering the allocation of 60 billion euros. He criticized the governing coalition for failing to set clear objectives for Romania within the European Union.

Negrescu suggested the need for a new government that would take on a European mission, as well as the creation of a Ministry of European Affairs to improve coordination. He also expressed concern that AUR should not be part of the future government, emphasizing that this party would like to take Romania out of the European Union.
