Victor Negrescu announced that on February 24, the Legal Committee of the European Parliament approved his report, which calls for an ambitious funding of 800 million euros for the justice program, an amount nearly three times larger than the current budget. Negrescu emphasizes that this report is not just technical, but an important political message, highlighting that a solid and modern justice system is essential for a strong Europe.

Among the objectives of the report are increasing access to justice for vulnerable communities, improving the efficiency of judicial systems, strengthening cooperation to combat cross-border crime, and enhancing the capacity to respond to cyber attacks.

Additionally, Negrescu challenged the excessive centralization of funds, emphasizing the importance of respecting European treaties. He believes that investments in justice are essential for the stability and credibility of the European Union.
